Manoir St. Pierre Inc. was approved by Canada Summer Jobs to hire one kitchen helper/grounds maintenance labourer for the summer months to help us with the operations of our building. About the role:
  • Must be a registered student between the ages of 15-30
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Have a valid SIN number at the time of employment
  • Part-time, between 30-35 hours weekly.
  • Experience and qualifications will determine hourly wage.
We are a bilingual facility, so the ability to communicate in both official languages is considered an asset. Ideal candidate:
  • Self-motivated
  • Possesses a driver’s license and means of transportation
  • Experienced in working in a kitchen and general grounds maintenance or demonstrates an aptitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities for Summer Help:
  • Report every morning for a breakdown of the day.
  • Tasks will be delegated on an as-needed basis, and candidate will receive sufficient training and supervision in all aspects of work.
Kitchen helper
  • Dishwasher
  • Washing tables/floors
  • Assisting with meals and meal service/delivery
  • Organizing pantry, shelves
  • Assisting Cook as directed
  • Interacting with tenants and staff
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to interact with seniors
Grounds Maintenance Labourer
  • Lawn Care.
  • Tending to Planters.
  • Carpet Cleaning in Halls and Common Areas.
  • Eavestrough Maintenance.
  • Maintaining the Parking Lot and Garage as needed.
  • Clean off and stain/repaint outdoor benches as needed.
  • Touch up the railings where they begin to show wear.
  • Cleaning Exterior windows.
  • Cleaning Hallway lights and fans.
  • Assisting the Maintenance and Cleaning staff as needed.
  • Keeping entrances clear of debris.

About the role: St. Pierre Parish is a not for profit, religious organization serving the community of St-Pierre-Jolys and surrounding communities. Your main responsibilities will be to maintain the proper functioning of the parish office for daily tasks, including publication of the weekly bulletin, and keeping of parish records.   • Receive donations or offerings brought to the office
  • Receive deliveries
  • Write letters, minutes, and forms as needed

Office
  • Place order for the office and parish including stationery, books, envelopes, hosts, candles, etc.
  • Classify correspondence and documents and ensure the organization of archives
  • Keep a register o keys for the church
  • Make entries and manage the register of masses and files for sacraments and funerals
  • Take care of preparations for baptisms, wedding, and funeral celebrations
  • Preparation and distribution of the parish bulletin
  • Prepare schedules for events, liturgical celebrations, and confessions
  • Prepare and provide baptism and marriage certificates according to the obligations and requests
  • Prepare and distribute documents to be delivered internally and externally
  • Prepare for the meetings of the deanery
  • Take part, as needed, in meetings organized by the parish, the deanery, or the diocese
Finance
  • Process accounts payable and receivable including salaries and rents
  • Account for all income and expenses using Quickbooks software
  • Reconcile bank accounts monthly
  • Prepare a monthly financial report to be presented at Economic Affairs Council meetings
  • Prepare tax receipts for donors
  • Prepare annual reports for the diocese and for parishioners
  • Prepare and submit any report required by the government including T4, T4A, and T3010
  • Prepare, in collaboration with the Economic Affairs Council, the annual financial budget
To achieve this, you will be working independently under the instruction and guidance of the pastor, as well as the Economic Affairs Council.   Requirements and Qualifications: Work is done primarily at the parish office in St- Pierre-Jolys. The hours of work will be specified according to an agreement between the pastor and the Economic Affairs Council; provisionally, the office is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:00am to 3:00pm. The candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • Front desk experience
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quickbooks
  • Bilingual - Excellent knowledge of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Knowledge of the life of a parish

  • Respond to inquiries from referral sources regarding the Assessment Program.
  • Provide participants with an orientation to the assessment process and with information about other EPC services.

  • Responsible for completing outcome reports as required by funder.
  • Responsible for ensuring that there is approved funding for each assigned participant.
  • Authorize training allowances for eligible participants and ensure requisitions are completed accurately.
  • Provide individualized assessments on a fee-for-service basis to external fee payers.
  • Participate in staff meetings.
  • Participate in regular consultation/supervision with the Program Manager.
