A private home is looking for a Respite worker to assist with Foster Children
About the role:
- Casual (Hours vary based on needs)
Responsibilities:
- Provide care and support to clients with disabilities or special needs, following individualized care plans and instructions from foster parent.
- Assist with activities of daily living
- Engage in meaningful activities and social interactions, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being
- Monitor for signs of distress or changes in condition, and report any concerns to Foster Parents
- Administer medications and perform basic medical procedures as directed by Foster Parent
- Maintain communication regularly with Foster Parent and keep track of hours worked in a log book
- Ensure a safe and clean environment, including proper use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Provide transportation and accompany to appointments, activities, and outings as needed
Ideal Candidate:
- Must have a Criminal record and Child Abuse check done
- Must have a Class 5 Driver’s license and have a reliable vehicle
- Honesty
- Team player
- Communication
- Must be able to communicate in English
